A cute little piece I did for design class. I wanted to draw another Victorian dress for a while. After completing her it took me a while to actually find an acceptable fountain for the background. One of my major goals with this picture was the constrained color pallet. I wanted to keep everything in just greens and purples (aside from the falling pedals) so that I could practice a bit more with how different colors interact and creating canvases that are theatrical by nature of what almost looks like colored lighting effects (if that makes any sense).
This is a very nice piece ! ^^ I really like the 'reflection' of the umbrella and the green lighting is very ethereal. Obviously the dress is to die for. However, two small crits; I think that the chin angle makes her seem a bit fat (though I nknow how hard it is to draw at that angle) and also I think her head is not big enough nose to back-of-head. Otherwise it's brilliant. Love the sky...
