A cute little piece I did for design class. I wanted to draw another Victorian dress for a while. After completing her it took me a while to actually find an acceptable fountain for the background. One of my major goals with this picture was the constrained color pallet. I wanted to keep everything in just greens and purples (aside from the falling pedals) so that I could practice a bit more with how different colors interact and creating canvases that are theatrical by nature of what almost looks like colored lighting effects (if that makes any sense).
This is a very nice piece ! ^^ I really like the 'reflection' of the umbrella and the green lighting is very ethereal. Obviously the dress is to die for. However, two small crits; I think that the chin angle makes her seem a bit fat (though I nknow how hard it is to draw at that angle) and also I think her head is not big enough nose to back-of-head. Otherwise it's brilliant. Love the sky...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was.- Captain Barbossa from POTC
