Rather fun drawing. The background took me forever.

I did it in open canvas and tried to create it the same way I would an oil painting. So it was interesting to fuss with.

The lineart was created last semester when I was taking archery lessons. I took the opportunity before class one day to watch one of the advance students and used her as a reference. Believe it or not you are suppose to hold and fire a bow from that position so that you can line up the line with your chin and nose, it improves your accuracy.

Besides how to fire a bow in that class I discovered what string slap is and why one should always wear an arm guard. >.<

The shape of the background complaments the figure well. This is awesome.

Ha--doesn't it suck when you forget the armguard? I did, several times.

the negative tree outline border thing really makes this image for me. it provides a sense of immersion and detachment at the same time. the quality of drawing is great as always, but the composition is what makes this one stand out imho.
